Student bass clarinets are made of plastic, ABS resin, or some other composite material and have nickel-silver keys with nickel or silver-plating. Professional bass clarinets are typically wooden with silver-plated or solid silver keys.

ABS Resin Body w/Matte Finish

ABS Resin is a strong composite material ideal for reproducing the tonal qualities of more expensive wooden bass clarinets while offering durability and ease of maintenance to student players.

Nickel Silver Keys

This bass clarinet has nickel silver keys, neck, and bell with nickel plating. Nickel plating is easier for students to keep clean because they don't tarnish like the silver found on more expensive pro clarinets.
