Baritone & Euphonium

Baritones and euphoniums are two very similar low-brass instruments, so similar that sometimes the names are used interchangeably. Technically, baritones have a cylindrical bore and euphoniums have a conical bore. The conical bore of the euphonium darkens the tone, making it ideal for a concert setting, while the brighter tone of the cylindrical bore makes the baritone a good choice for marching and jazz bands.
