Designed with the student in mind and recommended by many educators, the Selmer student clarinet is a solid instrument from a well-respected brand. Selmer's roots go all the way back to the late 1800's with brothers Alexandre and Henri Selmer, both graduates of the Conservatoire of Paris. Alexandre came to the U.S. in 1909 and played in the New York Philharmonic as principal clarinetist. He opened a store with instrument repair services and lessons and it was there that the seeds were sown for many future great American instrument brands including Selmer, Bundy, Haynes, and Gemeinhardt.
